Vintage Retro Fiberglass Serving Tray Mad Men Style

Do any of you ever come across fiberglass serving trays? I see them time to time. They're usually very large like the one I'm selling here.

You'll see them all sorts of patterns and colors. I have a neat round blue one I kept for myself. It has sections to put divided parts like cheese or little plates of things. Very mad men and serving with it always brings up interesting conversations. I haven't used it much really. I may sell it I don't know.

But the one I have up for sale now is really lovely and oh so retro! Well, it's vintage not retro but these words seem to mean the same these days. What I also love about them is that you don't have to use it to serve things. You can use on your dresser to hold your perfumes ladies. In the kitchen you can have leaned up against the wall as lovely decor. You can hang it and really just about anything.

Here is the description and here is the listing.

Who wants to learn vintage hair styles?

I'm really loving these magazines I've had forever! I found them in my stash from when I was in my 20s so like 2 years ago? Just kidding, I've had them over 20 years from a thrift store score back in the day.

I've held onto them from pure joy and eye candy but forgot I had them. The advertisments are also incredible!

They have step by step instructions on doing hairstyles from the 40s to 60s. What a gem for the hairstylists out there now.

I'm selling as it's time to let them go. Even for just fun conversation these are great to have around.

You can see them here.

Calling all coffee mug collectors!

Any of you collect coffee mugs? Wow! They are quite an abundance in thrift stores. I remember many years ago thinking, gosh, I wish I knew what to do with coffee mugs because there are so many of them!

I really wanted to sell them. I wanted to find some special unique ones for collectors to add to their stash. You never know just what special item you'll find that someone is looking for.

I love to sell coffee mugs and when the buyers let me know why they purchased it, that makes it even more special. It really makes me feel good about doing what I do.

I myself don't collect any type of mug but I love hunting them out and do enjoy looking at them. Some are quite beautiful.

You can see my coffee mugs here.

Vintage Faux Fur Leopard Matching Hat and Purse

Okay, so this is not a thrift store find. It could have been though. Back in the day it could. I used to find these types of things all the time. Now a days you probably can in the older original types of thrift stores.

This was given to me for a trade a long time ago. I've never used them. Only held onto them as I just wanted to love them a bit. But I do have it up for sale now. It's original and boxed and I think never used. SOMEONE will be a lucky gal!

This week I also have this really cook vintage cocktail glass in the mid century modern barware section.

Here's the description then the listing is here.

Mardi Gras or Ballet Dancer Vintage Mid century Modern White Gold Glass Tumbler. I've found a very similar set from Georges Briard named mardi grass and also Federal Glass has dancers like this. That set sold for over $50 so I do think this is from a collectible set.

It is not signed so I'm not sure which maker it's from. It's definitely from the 1950s 1960s mid century modern era. Whether to finish your set or to mix and match with your barware it's a great piece!. Great condition. Measures 3 1/2"

Vintage Atomic Pyrex Carafe Coffee Pitcher

This item is the epitome of what I love to find in thrift stores. I do come across this pattern time to time. I don't think it is too rare but it is indeed sought after.

This piece  I have up for sale has that great pattern of diamonds and arrow shapes. Very mid century modern for sure. Gold and black accents. What I love about pieces like this is that I can think of tons of ways to use it other than it's use. I don't know that anyone would serve coffee in it. I say why not. Especially if you have a mid century modern home. What a cool way to serve your guests.

But why stop at coffee? I like to use as a water pitcher for parties. I've used them as vases for flowers (amazing), to hold utensils and well, the list just goes on and one.

Here's a photo of this cool piece...............as you can see it really is so cool. I don't know. Something about this pattern just gets me really excited! Would you use it for a carafe or something else? I'd love to hear. This piece , if still available, can be found here.

Still thrifting.............

Oh my goodness, where have I been right?

First I have to say that where I left off awhile back (so sorry) was with the discovery of of new thrift stores. And as a matter of fact I just went there again last week so how weird.

Well, I had lots of changes in my life, some good , some terrible and well, life got sidetracked. I'd like to just pickup from where I left off. Actually I stopped thrifting for awhile. Can you believe it? As I've mentioned before I used to come home with loads and loads of items. I just have the eye or luck or whatever you want to call it.

But that also caused lots of clutter. Lots! It drove me to a crazy place and I think I've come back! lol.

I sort of rearranged my strategy and now I only buy things that are really rare or special in some way. I still have my eBay store.  I still looooove to find mid century modern items and of course vintage clothing and what not. But I really want to focus on just few select items.

I've got to say though, thrift stores are not as inexpensive as they used to be. I know they need to make money. I get it. But antique stores they are not. I don't always buy to resell. The items I resell I truly love and sometimes keep for myself. That's how I spot things. Sometimes I truly shop for myself (like I used to do when I was in high school) so it gets frustrating to see something priced so high.

I often see the same item month after month. Do you? It's like, hello, don't you need to move stock? Ah well, not my store to decide that.

So thanks for your patience and I hope to be writing more soon. Good luck thrifting!
